Orthopedic medicine is a branch of medicine that evaluates and treats problems with the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic injuries may include wounds to bones, muscles, cartilage, ligaments, joints, or tendons. The musculoskeletal system supports the body allows movement, so orthopedic injuries can be problematic to your physical wellbeing. Dr. Abraham will thoroughly evaluate your musculoskeletal condition and use applied touch, exercises, and medication to relieve pain and swelling while strengthening the musculoskeletal system.

Physical activity is integral to good health; however, certain sports and types of physical stress can make you more susceptible to injury.  Most sport injuries involve elements of the musculoskeletal system (e.g. sprains, muscle injuries, and/or bone fractures). To prevent sport injuries, it’s important to complete a sports physical to determine the state of your health before beginning a new exercise routine or playing a sport.
