Preventive medicine focuses on deterring the development of diseases. Going beyond treating symptoms or curing a disease, we use preventive medicine to promote health by educating our patients on healthy living and recognizing the precursors of disease.

Immunizations

Immunizations expose the body to altered strains of disease or illness to help build up immunity to the disease. Certain immunizations are required in the US to control the outbreak of disease or epidemic. Dr. Abraham’s medical staff administers immunizations in accordance with CDC requirements and can provide you with a complete list of required immunizations for children (and adults).

Medical Travel Information/Immunizations

While traveling abroad can be exciting, it exposes you to a wide range of diseases. Abraham Medical can provide you with medical travel information to teach you how to take care of yourself when traveling abroad (i.e. foods to avoid and how to determine if water is drinkable). Vaccinations, like tetanus shots, may be required before going to certain countries. If you are considering traveling abroad, be sure to schedule an appointment prior to your trip to keep you healthy during travel.

Nutrition Advice
