Here at Abraham Family Medicine, we are happy to offer telehealth appointments for the convenience and safety of our patients. Doing so can help patients enjoy services like health consultations, prescription refills, and more from the comfort of their homes. Additionally, helping sick and potentially contagious patients via telehealth can help our other patients avoid exposure to potentially dangerous illnesses during their time in our office and waiting room.
In the case of any acute respiratory, gastrointestinal symptoms or possible exposure to COVID-19, influenza, or other contagious illnesses, our telehealth policy is as follows:
- Patients with symptoms related to the virus must be seen by a provider via telehealth appointment. The patient will then be tested for COVID-19 or the flu based on the recommendation of the provider.
- If symptoms persist and the patient would like to be seen in-office, this will be allowed after 5 days of quarantining from the date of first symptom.
- Regardless of the timeline of symptoms, all patients with symptoms related to any contagious virus must first be seen via telehealth appointment before being seen in our office.
- Out of courtesy to our other patients, we do ask that all patients with potentially contagious symptoms wear a mask while in our office.
Possible COVID-19 symptoms include:
- Fever or Chills
- Chronic Coughing
- Shortness of Breath or Difficulty Breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or Body Aches
- Headache
- Sudden Loss of Taste or Smell
- Sore Throat
